Billing Ninja, October 2013 – May 2016

A Small Orange, Austin TX (Remote)

My job was to help customers and the company handle the money. I was responsible for working with customers to address payment or invoice issues, process orders and upgrade/downgrade requests, conduct audits, and respond to billing related questions, all to accurately resolve billing issues.

I received this promotion even though I had little billing experience at that time, based on my work excellence in live support and my desire to learn the new software and skills.

Live Support Ninja, July 2011 – October 2013

A Small Orange, Austin TX (Remote)

I was responsible for providing customers with extraordinary customer service and support over the telephone and via live chat. I needed to display excellent customer service skills and have an attitude and personality suited to work with both customers and my co-workers and make those people happy.

I worked from my home office, and provided consistent, excellent support, always satisfying my schedule and my superiors.

In addition to the above tasks, I handled traditional administrative tasks such as maintaining the database of customers, vendors, company representatives and distributors, travel arrangements, routing calls to appropriate technicians, and interfacing with sales representatives worldwide.

Accomplishments and Volunteerism

2008 Server Upgrade for Sikama International

Determined company’s server needs, obtained bids, selected lowest cost, ordered computer, then migrated user accounts and data with no impact to mission-critical applications. Total cost of project: ±$4,000. (I saved the company 30% on the hardware, and performed the installation myself.)

2006 Redesigned Sikama International's website

Under the direction of the owners, working in tangent with the Sales Manager, redesigned the company website using valid CSS, some PHP and XHTML

Unitarian Universalist

I have volunteered at the Unitarian Society since May 2010, in various roles. For a summer, I provided administrative support and created procedure documentation. I have volunteered for their District Assembly, provided assistance as needed in the Society office, performed data entry in Filemaker for the office manager, and I volunteered to assist the minister with office organization.

Interest

  • Cooking: I’ve started cooking from scratch, including foods like almond milk, sausage casserole, and vegetable soup.
  • Walking: I was raised in urban communities of Chicago, and I enjoy taking in Santa Barbara houses and gardens. I just completed a 280,00 steps in 29 days challenge.
  • Crowd Patronage: I like to crowd fund independent artist on PledgeMusic.
  • Reading: I am a avid reader. The books currently on my night stand are The Zappos Exprience by Joseph A. Michelli, Enchantment by Guy Kawasaki, JQuery Novice to Ninja by Earl Castledine & Craig Sharkie and PHP Object-Oriented Solutions by David Powers.
  • Sharks: I live for shark week on the Discovery Channel.
  • Google Fu!: I love researching almost any topic; most recently, I studied modern resume styles. :-)

I’m committed to a position that challenges me and at which I can succeed, using my technical abilities, responsible attitude, high standards, and positive nature to benefit my company, my fellow employees, and customers. My ideal position would be for a company with team spirit that offers at least a partial remote work option.
